First town in Macedonia, a nice little city between the mountains based around a lively pedestrian market area. Enjoying the food - had a late breakfast of rice, pork and beans which was well needed after a day on road rations. Tonight a resident German recommended an eatery with good ooshtipec - I'll find out what it is when it comes!

So far Macedonia feels a bit different - there's definitely less coffee. Everything is written in Cyrillic and the language is Slavic, so it seems less Mediterranean and is maybe a little more developed economically.
