After a chilly night (still at 1000m altitude) I didn't feel like cycling up another mountain today, so I'm taking it easy. After some hair raising tunnels i stopped in Berane, a town surprisingly devoid of tourists, to check out the market and museum. Borrowed some WiFi and took a chance on one of booking's more esoteric options in Adrijevica, the next village along the valley. Their single photo makes the place look like a defunct communist office block (it probably is), and it's not much better in person. No-one was expecting me, but one of the builders working on the place phoned the host, who said that the room needed cleaning and that I could come back in a couple of hours, so I headed into town for lunch.
It's a funny little village all set along the main road, with a fine church, lots of bars and little else. According to the blurb on an info board in the square the village "There is no smaller place, nor more history", so there you go. It also promises that the village is comes to life at night, and is renowned for its plum brandy, so let's see what happens!
