A day off from cycling. Six of us attempted to climb up Bobotov Kuk, which was considered Montenegro's highest peak until they found some more on the Albanian border. Anyway, it's still the main peak in Dormitor national park.

Easy start up by the Black Lake, then hitting some slidey gravel trail further up. As we climb there are still patches of snow which we tread gingerly across, then cross a barren basin of snow and rock. Finally the summit towers hundreds of meters above us - but the snow renders it inaccessible without climbing gear. Cutting our losses we climb a lower ridge and are rewarded with a view toothlike crags.

No summit, but a fantastic hike which took us 9 hours by the time we got back to base.
